Privacy Policy

SketchCAD is a browser-based service that converts construction drawings — PDFs, scans and photographs — into DWG and DXF CAD files. This policy explains exactly what the service collects, why it needs it, who else processes it, and how to get it deleted. It covers sketchcad.co and everything served from it.

1. What is collected

Drawings you upload

When you convert a drawing, the file is uploaded to our servers so it can be read and converted. The converted DWG or DXF is stored alongside it so it can be downloaded again. We also record ordinary job information — original file name, page count, how long the conversion took, and whether it succeeded.

Your email address

There are no accounts and no passwords. Export credits are held against a random identifier your browser generates and keeps for itself. If you buy export credits, the email address Stripe collects at checkout is stored against that purchase, so a balance can be traced back to its receipt if your browser's storage is cleared.

Payment information

Card details never reach our servers. Checkout runs inside Stripe. We receive a payment reference, the amount, and the billing email — never a card number.

Usage and technical data

Standard web-server records are kept by our hosting provider: IP address, browser user-agent, the pages requested and when. We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tags to measure which pages and adverts lead to conversions. These set cookies in your browser. They tell us how the site is used in aggregate; they are not used to build a profile of you and we do not sell any of it.

2. Why it is collected

• To run the conversion you asked for — the only reason your drawing is uploaded at all.
• To let you re-download your files — the conversion history.
• To take payment for export credits and to issue receipts.
• To keep the service working and secure — error logs, abuse prevention, rate limiting.
• To understand how the site performs — analytics and advertising measurement.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the Google measurement tags described above.

3. Who else processes it

SketchCAD is built on third-party infrastructure. These providers process data strictly to deliver the service:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users against fraud or abuse.

4. How long it is kept

Uploaded drawings and their converted output are kept so they can be downloaded again later. They are not deleted automatically on a timer — they remain until you ask us to remove them. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

If you would rather a drawing did not persist, email us and we will delete it.

5. Your choices

• Get a copy of what we hold about you.
• Correct anything inaccurate.
• Delete individual drawings, or everything we hold.
• Opt out of analytics using your browser's cookie controls or an ad blocker — the converter works with them switched off.

Email info@sketchcad.co and we will action it. Depending on where you live, you may have these rights by law (UK/EU GDPR, CCPA and similar); we apply them to everyone regardless.

6. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Files and purchase records sit behind access-controlled infrastructure at the providers listed above. No online service can promise perfect security, but drawings are only ever used to perform the conversion you requested.

7. Children

SketchCAD is a professional drafting tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

8. International transfers

Our providers operate in the United States and other countries, so information may be processed outside the country you live in.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of the page.

10. Texas residents

SketchCAD LLC is a Texas limited liability company. Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents may confirm whether we process their personal data and access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of processing for targeted advertising or profiling. We do not sell personal data.

To exercise any of these, email info@sketchcad.co. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will answer the appeal within 60 days and, if we still decline, tell you how to complain to the Texas Attorney General.
